Descriptions
Topline is a native macOS bar ($19.99 once) that puts Spotify or Apple Music in a thin strip across the top of your screen, alongside a green-to-red Pomodoro timer, 62 wordless focus loops, and mechanical keyboard sounds.
Topline is a native Mac app that docks a 44-point music and focus bar right under the macOS menu bar. It controls the Spotify or Apple Music app already on your Mac — play, skip, stretchy scrubber, volume, playlists, and AirPlay speakers — with no Topline account and no login inside the app. Clicking the timer turns the whole strip from green to yellow to red over 5 to 90 minutes, with an optional Autopilot mode that fades your music into calm background audio on breaks and guides a minute of slow breathing across the bar. For hours when lyrics get in the way, Undertone ships 62 wordless music loops, six ambient places, five live-synthesized binaural tones, and stereo brown and white noise; an optional keystroke clicker adds ten mechanical switch styles without ever recording what you type. Topline costs $19.99 once on macOS 15 or later, with zero analytics, zero tracking, and free updates.

Notable details for reviewers
- Gets out of a window's way: when a window sits directly under the docked 44pt strip, Topline shrinks to a thin line so the window's traffic-light buttons stay reachable, moving the song and timer into the menu bar until clicked.
- No fake productivity claims: the soundscapes guide cites the actual peer-reviewed papers on 70 dB ambient noise (Mehta et al., 2012), nature attention restoration, and lyric interference — and explicitly refuses to claim a guaranteed workday percentage or borrow third-party binaural numbers.
- Says when to buy competitors instead: the comparisons tell readers plainly when to buy Klack ($5), Sleeve ($5.99), Endel, PoroTimer, or free open-source TomatoBar instead of spending $19.99 on Topline.
- Live browser demos: readers can test both Undertone (including live Web Audio binaural beats) and all ten mechanical key switches in the browser with zero sign-up.
